During the summer of 2020, the Young Hackney Sport Unit (YSHU) decided to deliver a 5 weeks summer programme (July – August) after the national lockdown. The aim with this programme was to offer young people an active outlet after the months confined indoors. To ensure a substantial offer throughout the borough, YSHU decided to divide the borough into 4 areas and this meant up to 30 different sport and physical activities session a week. The need to collaborate with other well-respected organisations based in the borough led to teaming up with Sanchez Ming and his coaches at Team Get Involved Ltd (TGI). Their outstanding reputation and endorsements in regards to delivering sport and physical activities within the community and local schools made it an easy decision to collaborate with TGI. The restriction posed on the delivery of sport and physical activities after the national lockdown meant that our staff had to be adequately trained to deliver the sessions in a Covid19 safe environment. TGI were compliant and involved with our internal team training, as well engaging with other operational procedures. TGI coaches demonstrated great standards with their commitment, knowledge, adaptability and build an amazing rapport with the young people we worked with. We were proud to have collaborated with TGI has we were able to deliver a successful summer programme. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the amazing staff over at TGI in the near future.

TeamGetInvolved provides professional, high quality, inclusive Sports lessons for all age ranges from Nursery to Year 6. They are role models for our children, knowledgeable about the PE curriculum and innovative when introducing new skills and systems. They have excellent interpersonal skills when planning with teachers and working with children, as well as managing behaviour and timely lessons effectively. Their flexible approach and understanding of how schools operate is a strength and support to both teachers and senior leaders. At Kingsmead, we are extremely impressed and would highly recommend them to other schools and settings for quality PE lessons and PPA cover.

As a Federation we have been working with the TGI team for 3 years; in the first instance, this was to run a few of our after-school enrichment clubs. Due to our confidence in their capacity to provide an outstanding service, we have already extended their remit to include additional support during lunchtime and within our after school childcare provision. We are also planning to introduce some coaches to our breakfast clubs. From the offset the entire team have been professional, hardworking, reliable and are clearly incredibly knowledgeable within their field. The sessions are adapted to ensure they are fully inclusive – no one feels left out during a TGI session. Suffice to say the GHF children really enjoy the time they get to spend with the team. Sanchez and the team are not just coaches who show up to run a few clubs, they integrate into the school and have made a real difference.

We booked Team Get Involved to deliver sport activities, including football, tennis and sports day games, for 3 events, including one festival. They exceeded our expectations and over delivered at all 3 events. We had over 1,000 residents in total attend and they were able to meet the demand on the day, even though this was above our estimations. We received excellent feedback from the kids and parents about how friendly, fun and efficient the service was, and that they cannot wait for next year’s games! We look forward to working with you again and would highly recommend your services for not only small activities/events but largescale too!

It has been a pleasure to work with TGI since September 2019. They have been coming into DKH to work with the children to further develop sport at our school. During the school closure period, TGI have been in every day to ensure the children of key workers and those who are vulnerable have an active playtime. They have been providing a range of sporting activities which the children have found fun and engaging. Team Get Involved provide an excellent service to our school. Children have fun in their sessions and eagerly look forward to being active. Children thoroughly enjoy taking part in team games and individual challenges and benefit from personalised, fun and exciting sporting activities covering a range of games and themes. Planning, preparation and the managing of equipment for lunchtime sessions is all undertaken by TGI. The professional and friendly way that the coaches engage with school-based staff is great! I know that children are celebrated, challenged and included in sports to a very high level.
